Allegan is the seat of Allegan County — a small city on the Kalamazoo River between Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo, home to the historic Allegan Historic District and the Perrigo Company (the world's largest maker of store-brand medicines).
Allegan's Reformed, Catholic, and evangelical Protestant churches hold the historic pro-life teaching. West Michigan's confessional theology is unambiguous on the personhood of the preborn.
