Byron Center is a small unincorporated community in southern Kent County — a growing bedroom community south of Grand Rapids and Wyoming, home to the Byron Center Public Schools and a strong Dutch-Reformed civic tradition (Byron Center Christian School anchors the confessional-education network).
Byron Center's Reformed churches (CRC, RCA, Netherlands Reformed) all teach the personhood of the preborn from conception. The abolitionist argument is the civil-law extension of that theology — one of the most theologically-natural audiences in Michigan for this case.
