Zeeland is the smaller of West Michigan's two Dutch Reformed anchor cities — Holland's twin, home to the Zeeland Historical Museum, De Kruif Furniture Company (established 1908), and one of the highest per-capita concentrations of CRC / RCA / URC / Netherlands Reformed congregations anywhere in America.
Zeeland's confessional Reformed churches are unambiguous on the personhood of the preborn. The abolitionist argument here is the natural civil-law expression of West Michigan's most-densely-Reformed-outside-Holland theological inheritance.

A majority of Ottawa County voters rejected Proposal 22-3 — the Reproductive Freedom for All amendment. Statewide it passed 56.7% to 43.3%, but Ottawa County did not go along.
