Immediate, total abolition — no exceptions
Westland is a working-class Detroit suburb west of Dearborn, part of the postwar auto-industry ring. Named after the Westland Center shopping mall when it incorporated in 1966, the city has a large Union-Democrat electorate that has trended Republican in national races since 2016. Its churches lean evangelical, Catholic, and Missouri-Synod Lutheran — theologically-conservative traditions that hold historic pro-life positions.
Westland is home to Northland Family Planning's Westland location on Ford Road — one of the highest-volume abortion facilities in metro Detroit. That the city hosts a major abortion provider despite its working-class Christian composition is exactly the pattern the abolitionist argument exists to answer: private conviction and public law have diverged, and the law needs to be brought back into line.
One high-volume abortion facility operates inside Westland city limits:

Wayne County voted 68% in favor of Proposal 3 in 2022 — a vote that put the constitutional protection of preborn Michiganders out of reach through the ordinary democratic process. Abolition insists that some questions of justice are prior to the ballot.
Abolish Abortion Michigan is committed to non-violent, lawful presence at abortion facilities.
