Redford Charter Township is a working-class inner-ring Wayne County community — built out during the Ford-Rouge-plant boom, home to Bishop Borgess High School (closed 2007), the Grand River Corridor, and a dense Polish, Italian, and Irish Catholic heritage.
The Catholic parish network in Redford (St. Robert Bellarmine, St. Valentine, Our Lady of Loretto) holds the traditional teaching against abortion without compromise. The abolitionist argument fits Redford's working-class Catholic conservatism naturally.

A majority of Wayne County voters approved Proposal 22-3, the Reproductive Freedom for All amendment. Statewide, it passed 56.7% to 43.3%. A majority vote does not settle whether preborn image-bearers deserve equal protection under the law — that is a moral question the ballot cannot answer, and it is exactly the question the abolition movement asks Michigan to reopen.
