Kentwood is a Grand Rapids suburb built out through the 1960s-90s auto-industry-adjacent boom, now one of the most ethnically diverse cities in West Michigan with substantial Bosnian, Vietnamese, Congolese, and Nepali populations alongside the historic Dutch Reformed core.
That diversity concentrates ancient Christian anti-abortion witness across denominations — CRC / RCA / Catholic / Orthodox / evangelical — in a city where the pulpit teaching aligns almost universally against abortion. Abolition is the logical civic expression of that shared conviction.

A majority of Kent County voters approved Proposal 22-3, the Reproductive Freedom for All amendment. Statewide, it passed 56.7% to 43.3%. A majority vote does not settle whether preborn image-bearers deserve equal protection under the law — that is a moral question the ballot cannot answer, and it is exactly the question the abolition movement asks Michigan to reopen.
