Madison Heights is a small, dense inner-ring Oakland County suburb north of Detroit — home to the Oakland Mall, a strong Vietnamese community centered around John R Road's Little Saigon, and a mix of postwar Catholic and evangelical churches.
The Catholic parish network here — including St. Vincent Ferrer — teaches the historic anti-abortion position. Madison Heights' Vietnamese-American Catholic community adds another confessional voice to the coalition.

A majority of Oakland County voters approved Proposal 22-3, the Reproductive Freedom for All amendment. Statewide, it passed 56.7% to 43.3%. A majority vote does not settle whether preborn image-bearers deserve equal protection under the law — that is a moral question the ballot cannot answer, and it is exactly the question the abolition movement asks Michigan to reopen.
