Hillsdale is the seat of Hillsdale County — home of Hillsdale College, the classical-education / conservative-Christian liberal-arts institution. The city's civic identity is inseparable from the college's theological and political vision.
Hillsdale College's public stance on the sanctity of human life is unambiguous. The abolitionist argument in Hillsdale has one of the most-natural theological audiences in the state — the college's own students and faculty.
