Two weeks ago, we published an article detailing how to lobby your legislator. Hopefully you have taken action and done so! If you haven’t, now is your reminder to contact your legislator today.

Sadly, there are many legislators who, even after you email them or chat with them in person or call their office, still will not support the abolition of abortion. It may be tough for one constituent to change their mind on this issue. So, this article is a follow-up to our previous article which gives practical actions you can take if you have contacted your representatives and they refuse to oppose child sacrifice without compromise.

The easiest and most obvious action you should take is to contact your legislator again. This lets them know that you will not take no for an answer. Will this annoy them? Will they stop responding to you? Possibly, but at least you are doing your part in trying to change their mind. When you do this, keep your ask the same. Consistency is key; they need to know that what you want is not changing. You could change your reasoning behind why they should do what you ask; giving them more reasons to support abolition. Once you contact them once or twice cordially with no strings attached, you could let them know that there will be a consequence to their apathy (besides children being legally murdered, of course): the loss of your vote. You could also let them know that you will advocate against others voting for them as well. This requires follow-through; otherwise it is a lie and an empty threat. For them to actually feel the consequence, we have to let them know that we do not support their decision to oppose abolition by not voting for them at the ballot box.

Even better than simply emailing again would be actually meeting them in person, maybe over coffee, if you have not done so already. A real conversation without screens as an intermediator is more effective as it is simultaneously more relational and more confrontational.

When you confront your legislator a second time, keep in mind the fact that they have already rejected abolition once, so the second time we contact is less kindly pleading with them for the cause and more so an ultimatum: support abolition or else. Many of the action steps suggested here are geared towards this clear, pointed message. Here is an example email J. Mark Swartzentruber (cofounder of AAM) wrote to Mark Krieger that illustrates this point and is the tone/type of language you should be using:

This is J. Mark Swartzentruber, a constituent of the 38th district and President of Abolish Abortion Michigan Action.

  1. At AAMA, we were on the ground floor working with Rep. Josh Schriver on what could have been the bill to abolish abortion in Michigan, before we removed our endorsement (House Bill 4671)
  2. We crashed your competitor Rep Joey Andrews' New Buffalo town hall last summer 2025.
  3. We also crashed Rep. Joey Andrews' South Haven town in late summer 2025.
Since pre-born sacrifice is the leading cause of death in Michigan and our nation, in a week; AAMA will be putting a Mark Krieger post on social media.

If you agree to champion a bill to abolish abortion and refuse to support any pro-life compromise, our post will be an endorsement.

If you do not agree or do not respond, our post will be calling for repentance.

Let me know if you have any questions. Have a blessed day!

Notice how this email was concise, and extremely clear on the consequences for their lack of support. You may not have the social media presence of AAMA, but you can still give your legislator a clear choice: Support abolition or we will not support you.

Secondly, you should sign our petition if you have not already. The more signatures we have, the more legislators realize that abolitionists are not alone; they are a growing group in Michigan who will demand the total and immediate abolition of human abortion.

Next, get your friends and family to join the cause, and have them contact your representative as well. This is an essential part of growing the pressure put on stubborn politicians. One constituent is easy to ignore, but if they got multiple emails and calls from even just 5-10 individuals (but especially if even more people join) advocating for the same cause, even if they are against abolition they will not be able to ignore it or brush it off, and they will begin to feel like there really are a lot of people who hate child sacrifice and want them to act on it. This is maybe the most important action step because it simultaneously grows the movement by including friends and family, while also accomplishing the goal of increasing political pressure. Asking friends and family to join the cause may be more difficult than talking to a stranger, because relationships could be broken if the conversation goes badly. However, while the consequences of advocating for abolition with those you are close to may be high, so are the rewards if you can convince them. Plus, because they know you well, they will be easier to convince than a total stranger who does not have a relationship with you. Once they are convinced, send them to our article on how to lobby a legislator so they can join you.

One way to get others involved is to have them help you make and distribute drop cards. These would be cards you could hand out to people or simply drop off in public places, and they would have the name/face of your legislator, as well as a graphic image of an abortion victim, and text connecting the two. For example, something like: “(my legislator) supports this.”

Another step you could take is advocating for abolition in newspaper “Letter to the Editor” articles. Write to newspaper editors about your conversation with your legislator and detail how they disappointed you by not standing for the unborn. Make sure to follow all guidelines of your local newspaper which are often posted on the newspaper’s website. Keep it short; about 150-250 words, focused, and civil but factual. Include your contact information, and make sure to include the text of your letter directly in your email, not in an attachment. Also, make sure to address the specific newspaper directly and one-at-a-time. It is best to respond to a specific recent/relevant article that the newspaper published. Writing a letter to the editor is another way to advocate for abolition publicly and also get the attention of a legislator.

Additionally, crash town halls and public meetings that include your legislator. If you can find ones where the public is allowed to speak, those are best. They cannot avoid or ignore you in person in front of an audience. So, research town halls and other public events in your area, and bring some other people you know to also publicly speak for abolishing abortion. Be bold in your proclamation of the abolitionist cause, and be prepared to keep talking even if it means you are repeating yourself. If legislators do not repent of their apathy, we should be making their jobs hard and showing them that this is the most important topic of our day. Old people complaining about traffic laws can wait! J. Mark Swartzentruber practices what he preaches, so if you want to see a video of him crashing a town hall and refusing to leave once he starts talking, check this video out!

Finally, email us the details of your conversations so we can strengthen our legislator scorecard and help other abolitionists reach out to them. The more information we have; the better chance we will be able to change minds of those in office.

For your convenience, here is a shortened list of actions steps you can take to lobby your state legislator if you have already contacted them once and they refuse to establish justice:
  1. Contact them again (in person if possible); use concise language and present an ultimatum that you will follow through on depending on the response
  2. Sign our petition
  3. Convince friends and family to help; create and distribute drop cards
  4. Write “letter to the editor” emails or other materials exposing the sin of legislators who turn their face sways from child sacrifice
  5. Crash town halls or other public meetings; make their job hard
  6. Contact us so we can strengthen our legislator scorecard
Putting political pressure on legislators is a necessity if we are going to abolish abortion in the state of Michigan, so take these actions now!
