Immediate, total abolition — no exceptions
Ypsilanti is home to Eastern Michigan University and the historic Depot Town district — a college town whose civic identity is inseparable from Ann Arbor's. It shares Washtenaw County's progressive political character while retaining its own working-class base.
Ypsilanti's Black Baptist and Catholic congregations hold the historic pro-life teaching that has always been at odds with the county's Prop-3 vote. The abolitionist argument here is that private theology should not remain private when the state votes to constitutionalize what the theology calls sin.
