Muskegon is the largest Lake Michigan port on the west side of the state — historically a lumber-and-foundry town, now Michigan's Adventure amusement park and the West Michigan cruise ship terminal. The city is majority-white, working-class, and has a strong Reformed / Christian Reformed presence alongside a substantial Black Baptist community.
Muskegon's church network — CRC, RCA, Baptist, and Catholic — is uniformly against abortion. What's missing is the political coalition that translates that pulpit consensus into civic law. Abolition is the framework that translation requires.

A majority of Muskegon County voters approved Proposal 22-3, the Reproductive Freedom for All amendment. Statewide, it passed 56.7% to 43.3%. A majority vote does not settle whether preborn image-bearers deserve equal protection under the law — that is a moral question the ballot cannot answer, and it is exactly the question the abolition movement asks Michigan to reopen.
