Alger County · county-seat community
Immediate, total abolition — no exceptions
Munising is the seat of Alger County — a small Upper Peninsula city on Munising Bay, gateway to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. Its economy is centered on tourism, sport fishing, and the small logging trade that persists in the Hiawatha National Forest.
The Catholic and Finnish-Lutheran churches in Munising hold the historic teaching against abortion. The UP's independent civic character is one of the most receptive audiences in Michigan for the abolitionist argument.

Prop 3 vote · Alger County · 2022
A majority of Alger County voters approved Proposal 22-3, the Reproductive Freedom for All amendment. Statewide, it passed 56.7% to 43.3%. A majority vote does not settle whether preborn image-bearers deserve equal protection under the law — that is a moral question the ballot cannot answer, and it is exactly the question the abolition movement asks Michigan to reopen.
