Chesterfield Charter Township is one of the largest municipalities on Lake St. Clair's Anchor Bay — a fast-growing northern Macomb community that has doubled in population since 1990. Home to New Baltimore just inside its boundaries and a strong marina-and-boating economy.
The Catholic parishes here (St. Mary Queen of Creation, Sacred Heart) hold the historic teaching against abortion. The abolitionist argument in Chesterfield is the civil-law extension of that pulpit teaching in a growing community with room to shape its civic future.

A majority of Macomb County voters approved Proposal 22-3, the Reproductive Freedom for All amendment. Statewide, it passed 56.7% to 43.3%. A majority vote does not settle whether preborn image-bearers deserve equal protection under the law — that is a moral question the ballot cannot answer, and it is exactly the question the abolition movement asks Michigan to reopen.
