Grayling is a small Northern Michigan city on the AuSable River — best known for canoeing, trout fishing, the Michigan Army National Guard's Camp Grayling training center (the largest state-owned military training facility east of the Mississippi), and the AuSable River Canoe Marathon.
The Catholic and evangelical churches in Grayling hold the pro-life teaching. Northern Michigan's independent political character makes it receptive to arguments the lower peninsula has already tired of.
